Auzentech HDA X-Plosion 7.1 DTS Connect Sound Card
September 15, 2006

Configuration:

In addition to the demo shown previously, the other software included with the sound card include the drivers which also act as a configuration tool. In image shown below you are presented with the basic configuration for the speakers. The first step is to decide what will play back your sound. The first option is to the use of speakers, the second is to use the S/PDIF connectors. Below that option, you will see a layout of the connectors on the card which is intended to help line up the standard colors on computer speaker cables to the proper port (green with front, black with surround, etc). Finally, on the right hand side you can test your speakers. You can either click on each speaker individually, or use the demo buttons below the speakers. If you prefer you can also click on the volume bars and raise/lower the volume on the individual speakers.

The main setting screen also allows you to choose your preferred digital sound processor. Using the drop down, it will change the speaker area, and allow you a further choice of 7.1 Virtual Speaker Shifter or DTS Neo. 7.1 Virtual Speaker Shifter allows you to virtually change the location of your speakers. You can also move the listener, rotate, and increase/decrease the volume of the speakers. DTS NEO is an up-mix technology that turns any 2 channel audio into 7.1 sound. Here there are two modes one designed for music, another for movies.

The next menu option is the Mixer screen. Here you can verify your playback devices are activated, and deactivate the ones you do not want. You are also able to increase/decrease the volume of the specific playback device. The second section is for the recording options. Once again, you can deactivate any that you do not want, and increase/decrease the volume as necessary.

Next we have the Effects, which allows us to customize the sound effects for a desired environment. There are 27 simulated environments available, ranging from the Shower, City, Underwater, Pipes, Caves, and even Psychotic and Drugged. The next option is the standard equalizer settings, which includes 12 presets, and the option to create your own preset and save it to a file.
