Aeneon XTUNE 2GB PC3-10600 DDR3 Dual Channel Memory Kit
November 27, 2007

The Basics:

The two 1GB XTUNE PC3-10600 DDR3 modules are shown in the images below. They sport a sharp looking heatspreader with no clips, which seems to be the in thing with memory these days. The black metal heatspeaders are printed with the Aeneon name and a double stripe on both sides, and there is a bright red XTUNE logo on just one side of each.

Each module features a label on the side opposite the XTUNE logo where some specifications and manufacturing data are provided.

The above right image attempts to take a look at the end of one module to show how well the heatspreader is affixed. While I am of the opinion that heatspreaders are just for show, especially on DDR3, I'd at least like them to be installed properly. While the image may not confirm this, all memory chips were making solid contact with the heatspreader's thermal tape... something you can't always count on from other manufacturers.

In the final image on this page we see the only accessory included with the Aeneon DDR3; an installation guide / data sheet that folds out from the packaging's insert. While many manufacturers just include generic information on all of their system memory products, Aeneon addresses this DDR3 kit specifically, which may be of value to some users out there.
