Cooler Master Real Power Pro 1250W Power Supply
October 09, 2007

The capacity of many modern power supplies is just amazing. While 1000W seemed ridiculous just a short time ago, manufacturers are now offering units with 1200W, 1300W, and even higher power ratings. The average computer system won't use a fraction of the power available, and even extremely powerful gaming rigs and servers might be hard pressed to put a strain on such a power supply.

Perhaps there are a handful of users who actually need this kind of power, perhaps some people are looking to future proof their system in the power supply department, and perhaps having a big power supply is an ego trip for some. Whatever the case may be, this type of power supply is becoming more widely available, and many of the big players in the power supply market now offer units rated for 1kW and above.

Cooler Master is one of these big players, and they now offer several units with power ratings in excess of 1000W. One of the latest offerings in their Real Power Pro line up 'weighs in' with a 1250W continuous power output, and the ability to hit a maximum of 1375W. Cooler Master provided one of these units for us to evaluate, and we'll do our best to load it up!
