Cooler Master Real Power Pro 750W Power Supply
July 23, 2007

Conclusion:

The review of the Cooler Master Real Power Pro 750W Power Supply shows that this unit can easily power a system with multiple video cards and numerous drives, even while overclocked and overvolted. The power provided was extremely stable, with minimal fluctuation on any of the voltage rails. This unit will also help to "future proof" your system by offering both 6-pin and 8-pin PCI-E connectors, and native connectors for six SATA devices. As far as motherboard connections are concerned, this unit offers both a 4-pin and 8-pin auxiliary connector, in addition to the 24-pin ATX connector.

One negative feature that many people may not care about is that among all the connectors there is just one for floppy drives. While this might not be a problem for people who no longer use a floppy, the test motherboard (DFI LAN Party NF4 SLI-DR) requires one in order to operate, leaving none for use if a floppy drive should be needed for something like a BIOS flash or RAID card driver installation.

Don't waste your time with a search for the Real Power Pro 750W Power Supply on PriceGrabber, because according to Cooler Master this PSU will not be available for sale until August 15, 2007. When it does hit the stores, it will be carrying a suggested retail price of $169.99 (US). These MSRPs are generally higher than you might expect to actually pay, so keep an eye on your favorite store to have it for a bit less than this.

With the stable voltage rails and quiet operation I give the Cooler Master Real Power Pro 750W Power Supply the Bigbruin.com awards of "Highly Recommended" and "Whisper Quiet".

Pros:

» Strong voltage rails
» Quiet operation
» Dual six and eight pin PCI-E connectors
» Six native SATA connectors

Cons:

» Only one floppy connector
» Box says three 12V rails, unit says four 12V rails
» Not available until August 15, 2007
