Eagle Tech Computers D-Series External Storage System
August 03, 2007

External Examination:

The exterior of the enclosure is pretty plain. The front has three LEDs to indicate "Power", "RAID", and "Access". The company logo is located on the front and the side, and while plastic makes up the majority of the body, the two sides are aluminum.

Turning the enclosure around to the back, we find an exhaust vent at the top, along with two Firewire ports, a USB 2.0 port, a power connector, and a power switch.

The accessories for the unit include a USB D cable, a power brick (which uses a standard PC power cable), a Firewire cable, a driver CD, and a user manual. When I opened the enclosure I found a small bag of screws and four rubber discs which would be good to place on the bottom of the enclosure, or perhaps between your hard drives to reduce vibration.

Internal Inspection:

Removing the side panel is easily done once you have removed two tiny screws on the back of the enclosure. There is not much to see on the inside (I have already removed the mounting bracket in the image below).
