There are some things that I am just fine with using the generic version of, and then there are those things I always go for the name brand on. Typically the more I am into something, the more prone I am to go with a name brand. So when it comes to computers or tech gear I usually lean toward name brands. This is relevant because it explains my hesitation when the good people from Geeks.com offered a 19" TFT LCD Widescreen monitor for review.

When I looked at the link to the monitor on the Geeks.com website, the manufacturer was listed as "Generic". The generic label combined with two other factors initially had me a bit concerned at the start of this review. My stubborn attitude toward an LCD monitor locking me into a native resolution and the thought of dealing with dead/lit pixels were only compounded by the lack of a trusted brand name. I can tell you one thing for sure, this review has changed my thinking about "generic" and the resolution issues between LCD versus CRT forever. The "generic" A190A2-T08 19" TFT LCD Widescreen Monitor is as generic as it gets, yet performs amazingly well, so let's move on and let me explain to you why I have been so impressed.

It seems like every time I do a review on something from Geeks.com I have to say something abut their shipping. We confirmed the review order on Friday and on Saturday afternoon FedEx was at my door with the goods. Granted I am located only an hour or two drive from the Geeks.com facility, but none the less they are always on top of the shipping game.

The A190A2-T08 19" TFT LCD Widescreen Monitor arrived well packed in a shipping box with about the most generic looking retail box you can imagine. Inside the retail box I found everything well packed and secure and in perfect condition.
