Go Video 7
May 21, 2007

Conclusion:

While I could generate a list of complaints regarding missing features (such as no headphone jack, lack of MP4/DivX support, no component input), I am really impressed by this unit. It has a bright, vibrant screen, and a small form factor which allows it to be used in settings where larger, more traditional systems might not fit or be appropriate.

Some people may be concerned that a 7 inch screen is just too small to watch, but it is all a matter of where the unit will be placed, and how it will be used. For my specific use, the 7 inch screen is perfect. I have a limited amount of space in my computer room, so a bigger TV, DVD player, and a radio would cause space issues. Not to mention needing to have multiple units to cover what this one unit does. The Go Video 7" All-In-One Music and Movie System would be perfect in places such as a college dorm room, kitchen, efficiency apartment, or even a small bedroom.

In addition to the features I feel this unit is lacking, some other wish list items might include an audio equalizer and more audio channels for surround sound.

Geeks.com has this unit available for $119.99, and it occasionally goes on sale for even less. A search of Pricegrabber shows this unit available at two other locations, however both offer it for over $170, making the Geeks.com price quite attractive.

We can always find things we would like to see done differently or additional features included, but as is the unit works and functions very well. Given the screen quality, sound quality, ease of use, and overall quality of the features I award the Go Video 7" All-In-One Music and Movie System the rating of "Highly Recommended".
