Logitech Harmony 1000 Universal Remote and Wireless Extender
July 30, 2007

Harmony 1000 Universal Remote Packaging:

The Logitech Harmony 1000 is sold in the vibrant box shown below. The front side provides a picture of what the remote control might look like in action, while the back side lists some of the basic features and specifications.

The box opens in an interesting manner which actually took a second or two for me to figure out. The front cover of the box flips open once to reveal another cover that provides a window to the actually remote control and some more details on the product. Flipping this second cover up then provides direct access to the Harmony 1000 and its base.

Harmony 1000 Universal Remote Basics:

The items below represent everything included with the Logitech Harmony 1000. In the below left image we see all of the accessories, which include a manual, a software CD, a Logitech catalog, an AC power adapter, and a USB cable.

The above right image shows off the items of greatest interest; the base station, the rechargeable battery, and of course the Harmony 1000 itself.

If you haven't noticed already, the Logitech Harmony 1000 universal remote probably isn't like any of the other remote controls sitting on your coffee table. Instead of the traditional shape and layout, the Harmony 1000 looks more like a portable media player; featuring a fairly flat body, an aluminum face, and an off-centered 3.5" color touch screen display.
