Kingwin KA-9225 and KA-9227 Heatpipe CPU Coolers
May 14, 2007

The Basics:

The below left image shows the Kingwin KA-9225 in all its glory. There is a 90mm fan already attached, but it can be moved to the opposite side if desired. The bottom of the cooler is the copper, as are the heatpipes, and everything else is aluminum. The 90mm fan is rated at 43.45CFM, which is pretty high for a fan of this size; but the down side is that it might be a little loud for some users. The good thing is the fan is a standard size/configuration and can either be replaced or regulated by a fan speed controller.

The images below show the KA-9225 with the fan removed. The aluminum fins of the cooler are tightly packed with just a small gap between each one to help heat dissipate from the copper heat pipes.

The Kingwin KA-9227 looks a little different than most other heatsink/fans I have seen. The 90mm fan isn't on the top or the side, but is instead mounted under the aluminum fins and just above the copper base.

The copper heat pipes are longer than the previous cooler and do stick out more on the side. The 90mm fan is also removable but only has one mounting position on the KA-9227.

The top view of the Kingwin KA-9227 is shown in the below left image. The copper base can be seen through the array of aluminum fins, with the heat pipes passing through. I like the design of this cooler better as it is not as tall and looks a little more exotic. The below right images shows the KA-9227 with the 90mm fan removed and the cooler flipped upside down.
