The Basics (continued):

Moving on to take an actual look at the cooler itself, we have the two images below. The general appearance looks rather familiar, as many units now use this 'tower' design. The fine array of aluminum fins has three U-shaped sets of heatpipes rising from the base all the way through the last fin.


The base of the cooler is made of aluminum, and instead of being a main component for cooling in this design, it mostly serves to anchor everything down.


The aluminum itself looks like it may have been exposed to the elements due to the poor finish, but the key is the three slots for the heatpipes to pass through. Each copper tube has been flattened to provide a flat surface to contact the processor with, and to be almost level with the aluminum base. Taking a very close look shows that the heatpipes are just slightly higher, which may be intention in order to make sure they are touching the processor.


Accessories:

A few accessories are included with the RVT-9225 to allow for an easy installation on a variety of systems. The below left image shows mounting brackets and screws that allow it to be used on most modern AMD and Intel systems, while the below right image shows a 3-pin to 4-pin fan power adaptor, an aluminum "air-flow spoiler" to be discussed later, and a small pouch of generic white thermal paste.
