Lexmark P450 Compact Photo Printer with CD Burner
April 17, 2007

Packaging:

I mentioned that the Lexmark P450 Compact Photo Printer with CD Burner provided for review was refurbished, and although a quick glance at the packaging won't give it away, it is the only place that clued me in that I did not receive a new device. On the back side of the box there was a green sticker that described it as "used" and that it had been reconditioned for sale.

Checking out the packaging reveals the standard fare; plenty of pictures, detailed lists of features and specifications, and a few suggestions regarding the intended use. Inside the box, the printer is well protected in Styrofoam forms and a plastic bag, and all the accessories that a new printer would come with are provided (to be detailed later).

The Basics:

With the printer out of the packaging, there are still no signs of this unit ever being used. Every inch of the outer shell was clean and unblemished, and the promotional sticker added to the new appearance. A brief inspection of the printer in the views shown below gives a bit of the sense of size, considering there is a full size CD burner in the middle of the front face, one can tell that the overall dimensions are rather small. The silver and white color scheme also scores points, as it looks modern, simple, and stylish.

Taking a look at the images below provides a closer look at some of the front panel features. The below left image shows the power button, and a USB port that can be used either for USB flash drives or for a USB cable to connect PictBridge capable cameras. The below right image shows the card reader slots on the right hand side, which support CompactFlash (Type I and II), Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, Multi Media, Secure Digital, and xD cards.
