nMEDIAPC HTPC 500SA ATX Media Center PC Case
June 06, 2007

Operation:

When first operating the nMEDIAPC HTPC 500SA case I ran into one small issue. The DVD drive door needed some tweaking.

In the two images below you can see one with and one without the small face plate for the DVD tray. With the face plate on, it would catch on the case's door and wouldn't close properly. Removing the face plate solved this issue.

Normally the DVD door should be flush with the case, as in the below left image. But as you can see in the below right image, after opening and closing the DVD tray, the door stayed propped open. A little nudge helps the spring loaded door snap shut, and perhaps one out of five cycles it would actually close properly.

The VFD included with the nMEDIAPC HTPC 500SA needs a driver (included on the CD) and some software to run and configure what is displayed on the unit. There is a lot to play with so I will just cover what is unique. Most of these units display CPU and RAM load, date & time, email checking, network monitoring, sound waves, hardware information (via a program called SpeedFan), and Windows Media Player or Winamp information.
