OCZ Technology Equalizer Laser Gaming Mouse
June 22, 2007

The Basics:

Once the packaging is removed you will find the following items: the OCZ Technology Equalizer Laser Gaming Mouse, a driver/software CD, printed setup instructions, and replacement "mouse feet." From the pictures you should be able to see this mouse is predominately dark blue with black accents along the sides and top.

Right between the left mouse button and the scroll wheel is a red button known as the "triple threat", which will send the same mouse click to the computer three times with a single press. The idea is that in first person shooters the OCZ Technology Equalizer will give you an advantage over other players; some people will just call it cheating. The small black button located just behind the white scroll wheel gives you the ability to switch the sensitivity of your mouse on the fly. Whether you are gaming or working in Photoshop, this button allows you to quickly adjust mouse sensitivity without making software or application changes. Beneath the scroll wheel is an LED that changes color depending on the sensitivity (DPI) the mouse is set to.

Pictured in the below right image is what OCZ Technology dubs the "no-slip grip." It's a soft rubber tread where your thumb grasps the mouse. This grip is smooth and comfortable, however it will need to be wiped as a few hours of gaming will result in the grip becoming greasy due to perspiring hands. Located just above the "no-slip grip" are "forward" and "back" buttons you can use to navigate the web.

Next up we have a picture of the underside of the OCZ Technology Equalizer Laser Gaming Mouse where you will find the "invisible" laser emitter.

Below the laser is a sticker with details on how the different DPI settings on the mouse change the color of the onboard LED. Listed below is the color vs. DPI chart:

» White = 600DPI
» Green = 800DPI
» Yellow = 1,200DPI
» Red = 1,600DPI
» Red/Yellow = 2,000DPI
» Green/Yellow = 2,500DPI
