The Basics:

Here we have the first look at the Thermaltake LANBOX case. The front of the LANBOX looks very nice with two covered optical 5.25" drive bays, a vertical 3.5" drive bay, audio & USB/Firewire ports, a filtered intake grill, and a power/reset area with LED lights for power and disk activity. On the back of the Thermaltake LANBOX there are a total of ten thumbscrews holding the different "compartments" of the case together. You can see the area for an ATX power supply at the top, and at the bottom is the familiar I/O panel with four vented expansion slots. If you have a water cooling setup there is a break-away tab to the right of the power supply area to feed a hose through.


The right side of the case has a vented window, but it is not removable like the tower cases I have reviewed.


When looking into the case through the window on this side, the dual 60mm fans can be seen, and towards the front is a spot for a Western Digital Raptor X (windowed) hard drive that can be on display while running. The opposite side looks pretty much the same as the first, but doesn't have the 3.5" internal device bay displayed in the window.


On the bottom there are four mid-sized rubber feet to prevent scratching surfaces as well as to dampen any vibration that may occur.
