Xclio Wind Tunnel Extreme Cooling PC Case
August 31, 2007

Internal Examination (continued):

These next set of wires are fairly unique to the Xclio Wind Tunnel. The first one is for a thermal probe that has a digital display on the front panel. The next two are standard 4-pin Molex drive connectors for the temperature readout and an Xclio logo on the front panel vertical stripe I mentioned previously.

Behind the front panel are the connecting wires that we just looked at. During the initial installation there is some need to remove the front panel. To prepare for external 5.25" and 3.5" device installation, the metal inserts need to be twisted off. On the bottom there is a plastic bracket for another (optional) fan. I do not see the real advantage to installing a fan behind the front panel because it does not have any ventilation holes for fresh air intake.

The plastic bracket that holds the optional 120mm fan is also tool-less; you don't need a screw driver, the fan just snaps into the bracket. The hard part is getting a wire through to the interior of the case.

Accessories:

The accessories included with the case are top notch, I could get used to this. Everything you need is in the small box included in the case. There is a manual, external 3.5" & 5.25" drive rails, hard drive rails, and a bag of hardware. In the bag there are standoffs and screws for the motherboard installation, two sets of screws for the optional fans, a set of power supply screws, the cool Xclio internal PC speaker (which I really like), and some cable management items (cable ties and one sticky square).
