Xclio Wind Tunnel Extreme Cooling PC Case
August 31, 2007

Conclusion:

The Xclio Wind Tunnel Extreme Cooling PC Case is a great choice for any system in need of a full tower case. It has an abundance of features to keep anyone happy for years to come. Dual 25cm side panel fans will definitely keep any high end system cool, and do so in near silence even at high speed.

The integrated thermal probe with digital display on the front panel is another cool feature that provides a useful function without requiring any additional hardware. It works well, and looks good, too.

I do wish two things were different on this case. First off, I am not a fan of doors on the front of cases because it just means having to open the door to get access, and there is the chance that an optical drive could eject into the back of the closed door. With the Wind Tunnel, I can't even get the door to close all the way because some of the devices I use stick out a few centimeters. The second change I would like to see is having the ability to turn he blue LEDs on the 25cm fans on or off. While they do look very cool, it would be nice to be able to take a break from them, if you should so desire.

A search of PriceGrabber comes up with just one result for the Xclio Wind Tunnel, which is Newegg.com where the price is $129.99 before shipping and tax. That price is on the high side, but it is a well built full tower case with unique features such as the dual 25cm side panel fans. If you are in the market for a big case for your system, this is definitely worth consideration, if you ask me.

Considering the great set of features, the excellent cooling from the dual 25cm fans, and the near silent operation, I award the Xclio Wind Tunnel Extreme Cooling PC Case the BigBruin Highly Recommended and Whisper Quiet awards.

Pros:

» Tool-less design throughout
» Dual 25cm side panel fans
» Thermal probe with digital display on front panel
» Runs cool and quiet

Cons:

» No control over fan LEDs
» Front door won't close with certain devices installed
