ATP Electronics ProMax II CompactFlash Card
March 06, 2008

ProMax II CompactFlash Card Basics:

ATP Electronics packages the ProMax II CompactFlash card in a typical retail fashion. A plastic snap pack is used to provide all of the information the consumer will need to make an informed purchase. The front of the package provides just a bit of information and a look at the product, while the back of the package gives detailed information on things like the number of pictures, songs, or videos that the cards might hold.

Taking a look at the ProMax II card doesn't reveal anything different from your typical CompactFlash card. The front has a label which gives the speed of the card (300x), as well as the storage capacity (4GB).

ProMax UDMA Flash Card Reader Basics:

ATP Electronics included a multi-format flash card reader compatible with UDMA cards for this review. The top of the reader includes the ATP Electronics logo, as well as icons showing the cards it is capable of reading. Along the front edge of the reader there are two slots. The top slot will read all forms of SD cards, including MMC, miniSD and SDHC cards. The bottom slot reads MS Duo and MS/MS Pro formats. As shown in the below right image, this little reader is slightly larger than a CompactFlash card.

On one side of the reader there is a single slot that will read CompactFlash cards and MicroDrives. On the other side is another single slot that reads XD cards.

On the back side of the reader is a mini-USB port to connect the card reader to your computer for data transfers. The below right image shows the 4GB ATP Electronics ProMax II CompactFlash card inserted into its slot.
