ECS A770M-A (V1.0) AMD 770 Motherboard
February 21, 2008

Testing (continued):

Futuremark Benchmarks

The chart below details the results from two Futuremark benchmarks, PCMark Vantage and 3DMark06. PCMark Vantage performs tests geared towards the typical home user and businesses, and runs eleven different benchmarks ranging from stressing the CPU, memory, and hard drive, to 2D and 3D graphics performance. 3DMark06 is designed to test advanced 3D game performance using DirectX 9, and in our case was run at a resolution of 1280x1024 with no AA.

In these tests, the ECS A770M-A motherboard performed better than the Asus M2N32-SLI motherboard. The Asus M3A board was better than the ECS A770M-A motherboard according to PCMark Vantage, while the ECS A770M-A was better at 3dMark06.

Real World 3D Gaming

The game Crysis was used to test the real world gaming experience you can expect from the A770M-A, as it is known to stress modern systems heavily. Crysis is a newer game and tends to require a higher end system to run it at the best possible frame rates and very high quality. Using the Crysis Benchmarking Tool, predetermined demos are run multiple times and the average framerate value is provided as a result.

The data shown above indicates that whether the test was configured for medium or high settings, the ECS A770M-A was able to put up slightly better results.
