Conclusion:
This may be
NZXT's first foray into gaming mice, but they have produced a solid initial offering. The Avatar seems to mix elements from other popular gaming mice with a bit of NZXT's own innovation to create a recommendable product.
The comfort and performance of the mouse are key selling points, but the high level of customization is obviously important, too. While I was initially concerned that the low weight would really lower my enthusiasm about the product, I found that over time I could get used to it. The mouse would be far more appealing with an adjustable weight system, as I have a feeling that while many users could get used to the weight, they might not want to.
When it is actually in stock,
Xoxide.com carries the NZXT Avatar gaming mouse for
$54.99. Taking a look around
the Internet shows that this is about the lowest you will find for this mouse; with other well known retailers charging $5 to $15 more. It may seem like a good chunk of change for a mouse, but in terms of gaming mice it is rather averagely priced. You may find a more basic "gaming" mouse for under $30, but one with all of the features found on the Avatar could cost upwards of $80.
The styling, features, and performance of the
NZXT Avatar gaming mouse are definitely impressive, and help it to earn the Bigbruin.com awards of "Recommended" and "Gaming Approved".
