The Basics:

This 4GB DDR2 memory kit is made up of two 2GB DDR2 modules sporting platinum colored XTC (Xtreme Thermal Convection) heatspreaders, as shown in the below left image.

On one side of each module is a tiny label that provides basic information such as the part number, speed, capacity, type of module, and the timings.


Taking a close look at the top of the module reveals that there is no visible space between the XTC heatspreader and the memory chips. While some may question the necessity of heatspreaders, if they aren't even making contact they can't cool anything, so these are at least well installed.
