Conclusion:

While the saying is that you get what you paid for, I think you might get a little extra with the ASUS TOP 512MB GeForce 9600GT graphics card. The card performs well in tests, the GPU doesn't get too warm, and the fan never gets noisy. The performance in 3D games should be more than adequate for casual gamers, but this card also seems well suited for multimedia enjoyment. In addition to staying cool and quiet, the ability to output audio and video over HDMI makes it a compelling choice for an HTPC.

Speaking of getting what you paid for, a search of the Internet finds this card for around $130, but there is currently a $20 rebate available from places like Newegg.com that makes the final price around $110. While you could easily spend three, four, or five times that amount to have the latest and greatest, if you are satisfied with "really good" performance and a fatter wallet in the end, the ASUS TOP 512MB GeForce 9600GT is a good choice.

On the down side, there isn't much to say. While you could ask for more from a card, you would probably have to pay more to get it. One wish list item would be for the cooler to exhaust the air out of the back of the case, since it is a two slot solution anyway.
