Sunbeamtech Tuniq 3 Mid Tower ATX Case
February 07, 2008

Conclusion:

The Sunbeamtech Tuniq 3 is a good mid tower case with many features that users will enjoy. The case has an elegant look thanks in part to the solid aluminum front panel. The buttons and LEDs for power and disk activity are located on the top of the case, which is a great idea. Many cases with doors put these features behind the door, so you can't access them as easily. The CCFL gives the case some flare by accenting the feet of the case, and the side acrylic window allows a lot of blue light to shine out from the three included 120mm LED fans.

With the components used in this review I did run into a few problems. The CPU cooler, video card, and RAM heatsinks were larger than average and caused some issues with installation and operation. The 3D Core-Fan system is a good idea, but with a mid tower case and large components you will have space issues. I think the 3D Core-Fan system would be a better idea in a full tower case that can more readily accommodate larger than average components.

A search of PriceGrabber results in one entry for the Sunbeamtech Tuniq 3 Mid Tower ATX case at $59.99. This is about what I would expect to pay for a mid tower case with a good amount of extras included. If I didn't have large components and I was in the market for a mid tower case, I would definitely consider this case.

The 3D Core-Fan system is a great idea, and could provide a convenient way to direct extra cooling at the location you desire. Given the overall appeal of the case and its 3D Core-Fan system, the Tuniq 3 Mid Tower ATX case earns the award of "Great Idea".

Pros:

» Includes three 120mm LED fans
» CCFL feet are a cool feature that spice up the case
» Front door I actually like... doesn't interfere with larger bay devices
» Power and reset buttons are conveniently located on the top

Cons:

» Not 100% tool less
» 3D Core-Fan really cramps the interior

Special thanks to Tuniq for providing the Sunbeamtech Tuniq 3 Mid Tower ATX Case to Bigbruin.com for review!
