Thermaltake Xaser VI VG4000BWS Super Tower Chassis

Packaging:

The box that the Xaser VI comes in is shown below. The front and back of the box provide just a glimpse of the case, while the sides of the box provide a list of the features as presented above and tell you where to find more detailed information on the Thermaltake website.

The packaging inside the box usually does not surprise me, as almost all cases are packed between two large blocks of either styrofoam. The Xaser VI is no different in this respect, but what did surprise me is the additional packaging between the side of the case and the box. There are additional foam blocks attached to a large piece of cardboard. This helps protect the case in case something heavy is placed on, or hits, the side.

External Examination:

Once the case is removed from the packaging a quick examination of the exterior does not show many unusual features. The front of the case is one large door, with the main sections of it being perforated to allow air to flow through. The door is all metal, no cheap plastic here.

Opening the door reveals what appears to be eleven 5.25" drive bays. Each of the drive bays is covered by a door which has been designed a little different from the standard drive bay cover. Like the front door, each of these drive bay covers is perforated to allow air to flow through them. The picture on the right shows three different views of the drive bay covers. The lower right cover shows a nice feature; each one has a little dust filter. This is a great feature which should help to keep the interior of your case clean.
