The Basics:
The first thing I noticed about the
Leadtek Limited WinFast GTX260 EXTREME+ video card is that it is big! Comparing it to other cards on hand, it is just a half inch shorter than a Sapphire Radeon HD4850X2 and actually a fraction of an inch longer than a Sapphire Radeon HD4870 X2. These are two dual GPU cards with some serious length to them, and this GTX260 is right up there with them.
The card has a two slot cooling solution with a blower at one end, and the bulk of the exhaust vents on the back of the card to let the hot air out of the computer case. The body of the card and cooler are predominantly black, with a Transformers looking robot decorating the face of the cooler.
The top edge of the card features a pair of 6-pin PCI Express power connections, a two pin connection for receiving audio to be based on via HDMI, and a pair of tabs to allow this card to be used in two or three way SLI configurations!
The back of the card features a pair of dual-link DVI connections and a TV out connection. The card is capable of sending a signal out to a variety of different display types, but you may need to use one of the adapters shown earlier in the review.
While there is nothing significant to be found on the backside of the card's PCB, it is hardly boring. There is barely any open space thanks to the tightly packed array of electrical features, mounting hardware, screen printing, and labels.
