Packaging and Accessories:

The box for the Ultra Products X4 850W modular power supply provides about everything you might want. There are plenty of views of the product and its accessories, detailed information on the features and specifications, and an inventory of all the connections provided.



Inside the box what we find first is a user's manual placed above a foam block with a clear plastic window. Inside this windowed area is where we find the bulk of the accessories, with the power supply in the foam block underneath, and all of the cables in the cardboard box to the right.



We'll take a look at the cables a bit later, but the image below shows the rest of the accessories. There is a vibration isolating mounting gasket, a bundle of zip ties for cable management, a set of standard screws, and a set of thumb screws.



Overall, the packaging and accessories provide everything you might expect and more.

External Examination:

The power supply housing is found inside a plastic bag, well protected by the foam block we saw above. With the packing material all out of the way we find a monochrome black housing whose only splash of color comes from the chrome trim on the fan grill's label. The 135mm fan draws air through the grill, passes it over the internal components, and exhausts it through a hexagonal mesh on the back of the unit.
