robocopy for the win!!

Of course, if you want a real backup, use Acronis True Image. Someone recommended that I use that here and I have ever since. It's gotten me through 3 hard drive upgrades and several support issues for friends of mine. It works like a charm to backup the whole drive, with compression, as an image that can be easily restored. Be sure to make the boot CD too as it's also useful for testing.

There are some linux apps that could be useful as well, and those would work with the System Rescue CD if you added them to that CD image.

What's wrong with it? I would have used actual Linux on the computers, but the people who use them would be lost in oblivion.

Blhaaa... anytime I have (or anyone else I know) that has tried to use it, it's slow doesn't work right and just is plain more work than just installing a dual boot copy of Linux.

Like I said... if I just want some of the good *nix tools (grep, cat, etc..) to use in Windows I'll use unxutils.

SyncBack looks like a good choice.

You want to do unix commands in Windows? Use : http://unxutils.sourceforge.net/. You want to run a Unix/Linux program in windows... DON'T!!! Run in on Unux/Linux!

I'll bring the honey. I used Cygwin once, for ten minutes.

I'll check it out some time in the future. For now, it serves it's purpose. Just has to run rsync daily to back up a bunch of accounting and invoicing stuff to a backup server.
