Your CPU fan stops? Replace it man that is nothing to mess with. Is it hooked to the mobo or directly into the power supply?

Ummm, yeah... listen to Dad!! Fans are extremely cheap especially compared to the damage that can be done by not doing anything about it!

It is hooked up directly to my mobo into the cpu_fan slot. However, I have a 430w antec power supply (low noise) which just isn't as quiet as I think it should be. Everything other than the power supply noise and the cpu fan stopping after windows starts is working fine. Could it be a PSU problem? And what damage could running my comp w/o the fan cause, since the comp restarts once a temp of 60 degs is reached anyways?

It sounds like your motherboard isn't managin it properly. I would reccomend looking through the BIOS to make sure that everything is set okay.

When all else fails, get a CPU fan that hooks to your PSU.
