Interesting article... What do you think?

I may have about the average, and although I am set to store 12TB I have far less right now. I don't see it increasing 5x in 3 years.

How much do you have now and do you think this article is just a sales pitch by the storage manufacturers? Laughing

I agree that space requirements is growing, but I'm not sure I'd agree with 5x the space in 3 years. That's a huge jump...at the same time I have rips of all my DVD's (600+), and will be ripping my blu-rays (100+) very soon.

With more TV's becoming network connected, average people might start doing the same thing to access them all via their TV's.

When I saw the title I assumed this was going to include streamed content (which would be pretty believable given how much SD content I've streamed from NF in past few months. I don't doubt the average bandwidth will jump dramatically in the next 3 years and with it, HD streaming.).

But just storage? I dunno, I'm still on DVD. How big are those 3D BDs they're selling? I still think 3D is a fad, but it's an increasingly popular one.

I currently have about 5 TB in storage in my prime PC. And within the year I plan on getting another 2TB drive...but the estimations seem a bit high.
