Its been awhile since I did some overclocking the hard way. Nowadays any idiot with access to the BIOS can OC his CPU. I decided to OC my laptop since its always plugged in and no battery life concerns.
Took my Celeron 380(?) 1.6ghz to 2.128ghz via a pin mod - 400fsb to 533fsb.. After 4hrs of running mpegs and other stuffs, it runs 4'C cooler then it did at 1.6ghz. ....mostly in part to the better thermo paste I used over Toshiba's stock stuff.
Free upgrade.. ..minus an hour's time to take my Satellite apart and the sacreficing of a couple fine strands of speaker wire.
Be warned, The faster 400fsb Pentium M's max out real fast. Keep in mind your multiplier and what you would have at 533fsb. An 1.8ghz P-M with 18x multi may be too much for 133/533fsb. _________________ Veni, Vidi, Velcro...
