Hi - I am not sure how it compares to others, as I never really looked at GPU Folding before. But, I may abandon my dedicated Folding setup given the space it takes up, power it comsumes, and relatively low output.
The 4850 X2 is completing work units in about 4.5 hours... which seemed pretty fast until I fired up a 4870 Toxic (which is single GPU). It is completing work units in under 3-4 hours.
Is there multi-GPU Folding? Seems like the X2 should be faster now.
What is a YsSMN's 3870? I could try Folding on a HD3870 I have, but not this weekend. _________________

I think people have had issues with multi-gpu folding. At least I recall reading about some people having issues with it on Nvidia cards. Judging by your numbers, I wouldn't be surprised if the gpu folding client was only using one of the 4850x2's gpu's. I'm pretty happy with the numbers my 8800GT has been putting out and actually have a GX260 on the way so I'll see how that stacks up also. Currently my 8800gt puts out better numbers than a q6600 running 2 smp clients, the only problem is that I get EUE errors if I leave the client running and start up a video game. This may be an issue with my drivers though, because i honestly never even checked to see if they were the correct ones. _________________

I'm totally new to F@H so don't have any answers myself, but agree with acruxksa in the fact that multi gpu cards require "special attention" in order to maximize their output. Even small card arcitecture is interesting as it seems in th 9600GSO (= to 8800GT) the 384s out produce the 512s!
I believe there are specific "clients" for dual card or dual gpu cards but right now drawing a blank.
The 3870 in YsSMN is a single slot Sapphire....forgot the model. _________________ BluHaz reDux v2.0 >> Biostar Tf 6100-939, Sandy 3700+ @ 2.7GHz (air), Plextor 716, 74Gig Raptor, 2 x WD5000KSs, F1-3200PHU2-1GBZX, Liberty 400W, XP Home SP2

As for SMP GPU, or whatever it would be called, I think I'll skip that for now anyway. The results are good as is, and when I get into advanced setups it just seems like you need to keep closer eye on it for probems. _________________

Actually that's the one I wished I had bought, but think the Toxic came out after I bought mine. This is the one I got (new price really hurts to see!)
And you're totally right about the more complex something is the bigger pain it is to keep running! _________________ BluHaz reDux v2.0 >> Biostar Tf 6100-939, Sandy 3700+ @ 2.7GHz (air), Plextor 716, 74Gig Raptor, 2 x WD5000KSs, F1-3200PHU2-1GBZX, Liberty 400W, XP Home SP2

Yeah - It has been going well. I wonder if I can hit 1 million by the end of the year... Hmm, 32 days left, and a 193,000 points to go. _________________

I think it's prime time for a push to the 300's. The only things I have folding are 2 Q6600's, an 8800Gt and the HD 3870x2 (only one gpu) I got off of you awhile back. I've got a Q9550, GTX260 and new P5Q motherboard sitting in the closet waiting for me to get motivated and upgrade my desktop system though. Once I do that I'll be adding the GTX260 and another Q6600 to the mix. I normally don't fold on my desktop, but when my numbers start dropping I put it to work.
I was having a lot of trouble running 2 instances of SMP f@h on the usb key folding machines (q6600's) so I dropped them back to 1 instance each and they have been running smooth for nearly a week now. I probably lost 1000/ppd each, but in the end I'm ahead because I don't have to constantly keep an eye on them.
The GPU's are incredible producers and the 8800GT and HD3870X2 on one core seem to eqaul the production of both my Q6600's. Because of this I'm actually thinking of getting rid off a couple quads and duals and going with 2 4 PCIe slot boards and running quad 8800GT's in each. I'll have to wait until after X-Mas though because I've exceeded my allowance for the month. _________________
