EDIT: 12JUL06 - Overclocked to 3.7GHz now... 740MHz FSB / 667 MHz memory. CPU at 1.29V and Memory at 2.0V. Stable in Folding@Home, Benches, etc... Prime95 stable on both cores for 9+ hours at 3.5GHz... Not run at this speed yet.

********************************

I did a little overclocking on my new D805 tonight. Far more receptive to it than either D840 I have, but hey, it has more room to work with.

The system is as follows:

ECS C19-A SLI Motherboard
Gigabyte G-Power Pro Cooler
2x 512MB OCZ PC25400 DDR2
2x 128MB BFG 6600GT PCIe Cards in SLI (thanks Hellfire)
2x Seagate 80GB SATA 1.5 Gbps drives in RAID 0
Windows XP Professional
Thermaltake Armor Junior case
Ultra Products 600W X-Finity 2 PSU

Present overclock is to 3.0 GHz, which is where I will let it sit for a while. 150Mhz times 20x multilpier. 600 MHz FSB.

Memory is still at 666 MHz at 4-4-4-12-19 1T and 2.1V.

Processor voltage has been raised to 1.35V, which is then reported as 1.26V by the BIOS and Windows apps. It would boot and get into Windows at 1.33V but it was not stable.

Ran Folding@Home for a few hours and that is stable, and temperatures are in the low to mid 40C range on the CPU (according to software monitoring).

Here is a bench to show it hanging with some higher end processors...

Now at 3.33 GHz. Still 1.26Vcore and 2.1 Vmem.

666 MHz FSB and memory bus. I like that speed! Laughing

Benched against the same reference CPUs! Grin

I'll beat that soon enough. Evil Banana

Going to let it churn at this speed for a while.

This may be the easiest overclock ever, and I am hoping for much more.

How about a screen of your Sandra Arithmetic bench.

OK - 840 MHz OC...

3.5 GHz - 700MHZ FSB - 1.28Vcore (1.375V setting in BIOS)

Changed the last reference CPU to a X2 4000+ this time.
