Fast, reliable POP service?

I need an e-mail account that offers POP, and it has to be quick.

I setup a server monitoring application that messages me via e-mail at home and on my cell phone, but now I need a quick and reliable POP e-mail address to use to send from.

I can't use any of my domains I own since they will be down if the server is ever down... too bad, since the test messages took like 20 seconds to be delivered. I tried gmail and I never got the test messages at all. I tried mail from my ISP and the test messages took 15 minutes to be delivered.

Any suggestions?

I have a server, Gmail allows POP (http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=13273) , Yahoo does with their Plus account.

Yeah - I used gmail pop and supposedly set it up right... nothing got delivered at all... Laughing

Maybe I'll try that a bit more.
