I’ve been messing around with several CPU types to the point I’m having major cranial infarctions. Crazy Units played with are a 4000+ & 4400+ Brisbane, 3700+ Sandy, Opty 165 – 170 – 175, and more recently an Opty 1210.

So here is my question - “What is the correct shut down temp for each of these groups?” Realized I had missed something important as I was going thru my bioses to get the settings and found “shutdown temp” disabled on several. I would think the shut down for a Brisbane would at least be different from the Optys. Rolling Eyes

Best way to get your max temperatures is by looking at TechARP's CPU Guides. They cover almost every desktop and workstation cpu.

Here are links:

-for Athlons http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=337&pgno=2 (just click on the list there, to open it in in new window in full size)

-for Opterons http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=354&pgno=0 (scroll down to 2nd list with max.temps listed for every cpu)

Hope that helps. Have a nice day. Wink Wave
