Bigbruin.com's 6th Birthday Party:

Bigbruin.com turns six years old on April 01, 2009 (this is not an April fools joke). This will be the first in a series of give aways here, and to kick things off the prize up for grabs is a 2048MB Sapphire Radeon HD4850X2 video card that has been updated with a hard to find BIOS for extreme noise reduction.  In order to enter you must be a member of the Bigbruin.com forum and contribute 20 posts between March 30, 2009 and April 30, 2009...  [link]

Newsletter Only Give Away:

You may have seen these on TV and wondered about them, and now is your chance to try out the Magic Jack [link].  We have a pair to give away, and each comes with one year of service included.  This is available to residents of the US and Canada only.  To enter simply send an e-mail with the subject "Magic Jack" to contest@bigbruin.com - Two winners will be randomly selected on April 15, 2009 and contacted via e-mail for their mailing address.  Shipping is included.  And we'll have some more of these exclusive give aways soon.

Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB Hard Drive
Review Image Western Digital is one of the big names in hard drives, and one of their latest releases puts a much stronger emphasis on the word big. Model number WD20EADS is a 3.5" SATA 3Gbps hard drive from their "eco-friendly" Caviar Green series that sports 32MB of cache memory and an industry leading 2TB of storage capacity. [link]

Cooler Master Hyper N520 CPU Cooler
Review Image Overall, the cooler seems to be well made and so far the design intrigues me. The more compact size might be good for HTPCs or other computers with side panel fans that interfere with larger heatpipe towers. I just hope that the two 'smaller' fans can compete with the noise level and cooling performance of a 120mm unit. [link]

Chieftec HM-01B HTPC Case
Review Image Installing a system in the Chieftec HM-01B HTPC case was extremely simple, and the tool-less drive features may be the best I have ever used. Unfortunately not all aspects of the installation are tool-less, but it went quickly anyway. The internal layout gives you plenty of room for all the necessary components, with means to manage the wires neatly. [link]
