Vantec has been manufacturing high quality computer equipment for over 10 years. Their latest offering maintains their high quality standards. Not only did Vantec keep the future in mind by implementing eSATA, they also made sure to integrate ultimate portability with USB. If you have an eSATA port, this is definitely the connection you will want to use. The transfer speed of eSATA vs USB is no contest. eSATA destroys the transfer speed of USB. The ability to use SATA hard drives connected to eSATA or USB makes this s top-notch external hard drive enclosure.
I would be very hard pressed to find any negatives to list for the Nexstar3 eSATA enclosure. I suppose if I had to come up with something, it would be that it doesn't allow IDE drives. But I can't count that against the unit, because it wasn't designed for IDE (and Vantec does have other models that support IDE).
The Nexstar3 eSATA Hard Drive enclosure is not yet available online, but it is listed on
PriceGrabber for pre-order, with a price of about $45.00 (US).
The performance of this external enclosure scores really big points, and without any real negative to the unit, I have to give the
