The "Jasper" hardware revision includes a cooler running 65nm graphics chip as well as 256mb of onboard memory instead of the usual 16mb. Here's how to tell if you have a Jasper: http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/10/inside-an-xbox-360-jasper-ben-heck-dissects-the-mythical-consol/

Check the last two pics which show how to spot a Jasper.
I have a 20GB Falcon and haven't had a problem.

Interesting. Thanks for pointing this out, didn't know it.

I'm sure I have the Falcon too, as mine is 20GB and over a year old.

Overall PSN offers the important online features that XBL does, but for free. The only differences are that:

- XBL has cross-game voice chat.
- XBL has cross-game invite.

while PS3 has:

- (Home)3D Environment with games and special events like Xi.
- up to 60 player (soon 256 player) online matches
- free online community

There aren't too many large differences worthy of $50 every year for Xbox Live. Sorry, I'd rather put that money into buying more games every year.

and the bluray issue:
Here is something that i want to put out there. What happens when blue-ray takes over and xbox releases its new xbox 360 with blue-ray. All of you 360 lovers out there will need to pay more cash! but PS3 lovers are set because sony designed it for the future not just to make money and marketing like Microsoft. they are sell outs. any good gamer knows it they made it for pure profit and confused all these people thinking its perfect.

I also recommend the PS3 for its possibility to install Linux and its ease of playing DIVX movies with subtitles

if you don't own a blu-ray i am starting to lean towards PS3 (I have recommended Wii and the 360 before for various reasons, but have based on what is out there now, the PS3 is finally the best option). Goodluck with decision, since I am sure by now the options are fairly clear by now.

The Wii is the cheap fling... The 360 is the escort (hired out in installments)... And the PS3 is marriage material (now that it has picked up those necessary tricks from the competition.)

P.S. Always choose a system based on what you play (want to play/watch).

i would stick with a PC system....

almost all games have a PC version (except WII)

you can also get a Blu ray player for PC, and with a HDMI out you can enjoy it on a big screen
