Conclusion:
Thermaltake has another great CPU cooler! The Big Typhoon does its job superbly. The split fin design seems to be a great advantage over a single fin layout. While a 120m fan helps with the cooling, you will want to be careful to make sure you will have adequate room around your CPU to install it. With the size of the Big Typhoon it will be a major centerpiece of your system, you might want to consider replacing the fan for a little "bling".
The Big Typhoon is priced at $49.99 from CrazyPC, which is very reasonable for the amount of cooling it offers, and exactly what a search of PriceGrabber indicates you should pay (see table below). From my experience you would have to go to a liquid cooled system to get better temperatures. The price to performance ratio scores big points, a few points are lost for the difficulty of installing it. Overall I have to give this a 4.5 out of 5... "Readily Recommended".
