"If it's too loud, you're too old"... Ahh, the wisdom of youth, which many of us never gave up on. This never used to apply to PCs, but with the modernization of computer audio it applies more so every day. The first humble sounds from a computer were mere beeps produced by a 10-cent speaker, and now today computer audio can be found as the center piece of a modern home entertainment system able to produce near theater quality surround sound. Audio is now an essential part of computing, and products exist to satisfy the needs of consumers on every level.

Today we are taking a look at the DHT-819C 5.1 Channel Surround Sound Speakers supplied to us by the good people over at Geeks.com. Let's start by taking a look a the published specifications (as found on the Geeks.com website):

By looking at the specifications, it is very obvious these speakers are not meant to be used on a high end home entertainment system. However, at a price of only $34.95 from Geeks.com, they are meant to fit into a budget concision consumer's system. Since they are speakers and speakers are meant to produce sound, if they don't produce good quality sound then they aren't worth the money, no matter what the price.
